Boating in Peterborough & the Kawarthas

It’s Aboat Time

Nothing but you, the sun and long stretches of sparkling water ahead…Ahh boating in Peterborough & the Kawarthas.

In fact, there’s no debate on this one: Peterborough & the Kawarthas has some of the best inland boating in the world. And what’s even better is that the region lies at the heart of the historic Trent-Severn Waterway. From here, Canada’s longest chain of locks and canals connects our lakes and rivers to the Great Lakes and beyond.

Sea Doo Trip from Hastings to Peterborough

This Trent River to Otonabee River Sea Doo Tour via Rice Lake is one of many exciting Ontario rides I’ve discovered. My wife and I acquired a Triton Elite WCII watercraft trailer, so we could easily access Ontario riding destinations other than our own cottage lake from my Sea-Doo dealer, Gateway Powersports & Marine. Most are also close to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). So why stay in one place all summer? Get out there and live a little!

Power Boat Television: Daytripping the Kawarthas

Steve’s buddy joins him to spend a few days exploring the Trent-Severn Waterway on a Princecraft Quorum 23 pontoon where they take over control of the Peterborough Lift Lock. Later he heads to the Rideau River to profiles a 2017 Carver C37 while on My Boat it’s Mike shows the good, bad and ugly of fuel and other hoses.
