Begin your trip with a visit to the Peterborough Regional Farmers’ Market, where you can find fresh local produce, meats, cheeses, baked goods, and more. The market is open on Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm. Starting in May, you can also check out the outdoor farmers’ market every Wednesday.
After looking at all that scrumptious food, your tummy is probably rumbling for a filling brunch. A short walk up to Hunter Street, it’s time to visit Sam’s Place Deli. The attention to detail in every sandwich and side is what separates a sandwich from a Samwich. Their menu is full of locally-sourced breads, house-cured meats, and perfectly selected flavour combinations that showcase some Peterborough & the Kawarthas finest ingredients. They have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches, classic sandwiches, and several sassily named specials too!
Head to scenic Rice Lake for a relaxing evening at Elmhirst’s Resort. This four-season cottage resort offers a spa, excellent dining and a host of activities for the whole family. Check in to your cottage before heading to dinner at one of the 2 onsite FeastON certified restaurants. Elmhirst proudly serves their guests and the local community with locally sourced or farm-raised food and drink. Dine in casual elegance in the Hearthside Dining Room, or a casual family friendly pub atmosphere patio at the Wild Blue Yonder Pub and Patio.
