For centuries, puppetry has been a practiced artform across the globe. Marionettes are a lively medium for sharing stories, animating myths and legends, and for entertaining audiences. The Peterborough Puppet Guild was founded in 1953 and operated for over a decade, performing as well as hosting marionette-building workshops.
On display at the Peterborough Museum & Archives are selections of marionettes from the Peterborough Puppet Guild’s vast collection, set within themed vignettes that include the Wizard of Oz, King Neptune, Liberace’s band, and more!
All strings considered, you’re knot going to find a collection of marionettes like this anywhere else!
