The Hope Mill is a totally restored, water powered saw mill (circa 1835). They sell the lumber and crafts made on-site, contract sawing, live demonstrations and historical tours. Younger visitors can even build a birdhouse to take home! Admission is free but donations are gratefully accepted.

Hope Mill’s mission is to preserve and promote knowledge of 19th century water-powered wool and lumber milling technology through the safe demonstration of operating heritage equipment and sharing of historical archives while fostering a cooperative environment for Hope Mill volunteers.

Just down the road, step back in time at Lang Pioneer Village Museum! Explore more than 30 historic buildings, meet costumed interpreters, and experience the sights, sounds, and stories of 19th-century Peterborough County, from traditional trades and crafts to everyday pioneer life.
