Visitors can explore Aabnaabin Camp, where the history, and culture of the Michi Saagiig (Mississaugas) are shared through absorbing interpretation and community partnerships. Throughout the Village, costumed interpreters demonstrate traditional trades, skills, and daily life, offering a hands-on glimpse into the experiences of settlers who helped shape the Kawarthas into what they are today.
Many of the historic buildings were carefully relocated from communities across the region, preserving and celebrating the area’s rich heritage for future generations. Highlights include the fully operational Lang Grist Mill and the Samuel L. Lowry Weaver Shop, home to one of only a handful of authentic Jacquard looms on public display in North America, as well as a functional Blacksmith Shop, and the original Fife Cabin, the home of David Fife of Red Fife Wheat fame.
