About Trent Lakes

In the northwest corner of Peterborough County, where dozens of shimmering lakes and towering forests meet the Canadian Shield, you’ll find quintessential cottage country in the Municipality of Trent Lakes. Steeped in history, Trent Lakes traces its roots to Indigenous communities who have long cherished these lands and waterways, followed by settlers drawn by the promise of timber, trapping, and life lived close to nature. Today, that heritage is alive in the area’s welcoming communities and scenic landscapes.

Wander through Buckhorn’s charming main street, where quaint boutiques, cozy cafés, and friendly faces invite you to linger. Just beyond, tucked among the trees, you’ll discover storied landmarks, creative local businesses, and countless opportunities to reconnect.

Ready to explore? Whether you’re cruising the Trent-Severn Waterway, discovering hidden trails, or raising a glass over a sunset view, Trent Lakes invites you to reconnect with what’s real and experience the magic of The Kawarthas – one memorable moment at a time.
