How long does it take to find yourself?
If you ask Mack Ray he might say too damn long. Mack has already lived a few lives rolled into one. From screaming his lungs out fronting rock and roll bands, to moving to Nashville to write on music row, then coming home to Canada only to hop in the van and tour North America screaming his lungs out in rock n roll again. Mack Ray sounds like the 90’s in a way that only somebody that lived through the 90’s could do it. The 90’s may be the trend du jour but it’s not a trend if it’s what made you pick up a guitar in the first place. PJ Harvey. Nirvana. Mark Lanegan. Jeff Buckley. Chris Cornell. Songs born out of feeling. The journey to finding yourself isn’t straight or smooth. There are ugly moments along the way. How long does it take? Who cares. When it finally happens, it’s worth it.
