“The Kid from Simcoe Street” is a coming-of-age history play set in the 1940s and 1950s about Peterborough-born retired Ontario Superior Court Judge and published poet James Clarke. In the play, James struggles to overcome obstacles such as growing up poor on the wrong side of the tracks with a father who has gone off to fight in the Second World War. The play features Jim at 3 ages. It’s a must-see for anybody who lived through this period or who would like to experience it secondhand.
