The sanctuary is home to a wonderful variety of animals including horses, cows, donkeys, goats, sheep, alpacas, a llama, pigs, ducks, and rabbits, all living on 94 beautiful acres in South Dummer, near Norwood, Ontario.
Many of the residents were originally purchased as pets or for small-scale homesteading rather than as working farm animals. They often came from situations where their owners were inexperienced or underprepared for the realities of farm animal care. Farm animals have specific needs that are quite different from those of domestic pets, and that’s where they come in.
Every animal in their care receives food, shelter, and the kind of love and attention that helps them learn to trust again. They strive to meet the unique needs of each species, and each individual, so they can live their best lives.
