After the stillness of winter, the world comes alive in springtime.
Peterborough & the Kawarthas is a perfect destination to go with the flow in the early days of spring as ice melts into running waters on our region’s waterways, maple syrup makers bring people together to share in a quintessentially Canadian tradition, and simple moments are shared with your nearest and dearest over brunch. Whether you’re coming for an easy day trip, or staying a night or two, put some spring in your step as you scout out your new favourite places.
The snow has melted and it’s time for you to get back outside. After a cold Canadian winter, spring is for reconnecting with nature and our trails are one of the best places to start that adventure. Any direction you tread on a trail in Peterborough & the Kawarthas is going to help you feel at one with the outdoors. Looking for some of our favourite spots to explore in the spring? Meander through Jackson Park or see the spring run-off at Burleigh Falls. You won’t leave our trails without your thirst for adventure quenched.
Wake up that garden you put to bed last autumn. Whether you’re looking for new garden accessories or just taking some time to smell the roses, there are ideas at every turn. Follow the Garden Route – your path to specialty growers, fabulous display gardens, and boutiques. Looking to make a weekend of it? Visit in early April and make the Peterborough Garden Show a stop.
Is there truly any sweeter way to spend your day indulging than in one of nature’s tastiest treats? You owe it to yourself to take advantage of the flowing tree sap! Enjoy the ultimate in Canadian flavour this spring in real Canadian cottage country.
