SUMMARY:4th Line Theatre's "The Housekeeper"
DESCRIPTION:“The Housekeeper”\nWorld Premiere\nWritten by Ian McLachlan & Robert Winslow\nDirected by Robert Winslow\nJuly 1 – 19\nPreviews: July 1\, 2\nOpening Night: Thursday\, July 3\nTuesday to Saturday at 6 pm\nWith an added Monday performance on July 14th\nMature Content. Recommended 16+ \nIt is 1955 and a mysterious woman arrives in Millbrook. Eleanor Gwyn is looking for a job and being the housekeeper for widower Walter White might be the perfect fit. Eleanor is hoping to put down roots\, find a place to call home and make a fresh start in her life. But is Millbrook ready for Eleanor and her progressive world views? This compelling mystery romance is the fourth in Robert Winslow & Ian McLachlan’s series of plays about Barnardo children and their impact on Canadian culture and history. The Housekeeper ponders the duality of the welcoming and easy nature of small towns with how small towns can be suspicious of outsiders.

SUMMARY:Backcountry Bio Blitz
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Blazing Star Environmental\, we are pleased to be holding the Backcountry Bioblitz at Land’escapes again this year! \nCome for a 24-hour fundraising event where teams of volunteers work together to find and identify as many species as possible. All proceeds will go to the Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre (OTTC). Attendees have the option to come just for the days or camp at our backcountry sites on June 7th. \nA Bio Blitz is an event that focuses on finding and identifying as many species as possible in a specific area in one day. They are a biological inventory or biological census done with the help of community members\, naturalists\, and knowledgeable locals. The primary goal of a BioBlitz is to get an overall count of the plants\, animals\, fungi\, and other organisms that live in a place. \nThe winning team with the most species ID’s will win a weekend trip of their choice back at Land’escapes sometime this summer! There will also be other prizes for identifying new species\, most fungi\, most snakes\, and most invertebrates. \nThis event benefits the Ontario Turtle Conservation Center\, which operates a turtle hospital that treats\, rehabilitates\, and releases injured turtles. It also aids many conservation initiatives by conducting extensive research and by running a comprehensive education and outreach program. \nTo review all the details and to register\, please visit the organizer’s website: https://landescapes.org/backcountry-bioblitz/
