DESCRIPTION:Who’s ready for a Pumpkin Parade?\nDon’t miss out on this year’s Pumpkin Parade\, which will be held on Wed Nov 1st at 5:30 pm. Last year was its inaugural event and drew more than 300 visitors with over 230 lit pumpkins lining the Mathison trails. Amazing! \nYou can drop off your pumpkin(s) at the Mathison Trail (behind the Havelock arena) anytime before 5pm on Nov. 1st. Or\, if you live in the village of Havelock just put them out curbside and one of our volunteers will be along to collect them before noon on Nov. 1st. As you walk through the cemetery\, you’ll hear about the lives of people such as Colonel J.W. Miller\, who fought at the Battle of Gettysburg; John Roach\, who served in the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars\, and brothers Harry and Heber Rogers who were both POWs during the Great War.

DESCRIPTION:Wander through the night sky with us and experience the wonder\, awe and peace of stargazing.\nDuring the new moon time in October\, November and December bring your friends and family to learn about and marvel at the stars with the Wanderlight alpacas.\nEach group will receive a water proof picnic blanket to sit on (bring extra blankets for warmth or chairs if you prefer)\, tea or hot chocolate and mugs\, a bag of popcorn and a star map. \nThis magical evening will include a 20 minute introduction to the autumn night sky at 44 degrees north including a review of the visible planets and constellations and the sharing of star lore and constellation mythology. Participation is encouraged – there will be time to share your astronomy facts or night magic poems. \nIn the unhappy event of a very cloudy or rainy evening the Star Party will be cancelled and payment refunded or applied to a different Star Party date. \nBook your spot now!
