SUMMARY:4th Line Theatre's "Wild Irish Geese" - Live Outdoor Original Canadian Theatre
DESCRIPTION:“Wild Irish Geese”\nWritten by Megan Murphy\nAugust 4 – 29\, 2026\nDirected by Kim Blackwell\nPreviews: August 4\, 5\nOpening Night: Thursday\, August 6\nTuesday to Saturday at 6 pm\nWith an added Monday performance on August 24th \nBack by popular demand after its sold-out 2025 premiere\, “Wild Irish Geese” returns to the 4th Line stage with a powerful story of migration and starting over. In the 1820s\, Peter Robinson led an emigration scheme that brought hundreds of Irish families to Canada as they fled famine and poverty. More than 2\,000 arrived in Scotts Plains—later known as Peterborough—and began their lives anew. “Wild Irish Geese” reflects on the courage\, displacement\, and enduring spirit of those who journeyed far to survive. Through hardship and hope\, these new Canadians forged a fragile beginning in a complex colonial landscape. Planting deep roots in the Peterborough area\, these Irish emigrants now have tens of thousands of descendants both locally and across the globe. \nTo purchase tickets\, call the box office at 705-932-4445\, or toll-free at 800-814-0055\, visit us online at www.4thlinetheatre.on.ca or in-person at 9 Tupper Street\, Millbrook\, ON L0A 1G0. \nThe Winslow Farm site opens at 4 PM on performance dates – bring a picnic\, purchase food on-site\, visit the concessions stand (selling snacks and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages) before the show. Festival Fridays at the Farm features food vendors and artist talks/expert chats before the show. The show starts at 6 PM and runs approximately 2.5 hours with a 15-minute intermission. \nEPIC IN NATURE. Idyllic\, rural\, and quintessentially Canadian\, each year the 4th Line Theatre Company presents Canadian plays on the Winslow Farm in Millbrook\, Ontario – written by and about Canadians; small town stories or broad national sagas that touch a nerve in all of us. \n4th Line Theatre’s mandate is to preserve and promote our Canadian cultural heritage through the development and presentation of regionally-based\, environmentally-staged historical dramas.

SUMMARY:Peterborough Musicfest - The Dreamboats (Main Stage) & Jeanne Truax (Future Sound Series)
DESCRIPTION:Peterborough Musicfest is one of Canada’s longest-running free admission music festival and a highlight of the summer season for visitors exploring Peterborough County and the Kawarthas. The series takes place at Del Crary Park on the shores of Little Lake\, offering a scenic waterfront setting for live music under the stars. \nHeld every Wednesday and Saturday evening from late June to mid August\, Peterborough Musicfest features a dynamic mix of Canadian and international artists across genres including rock\, pop\, country\, indie\, folk\, and roots. Each concert evening begins with the Future Sound Series presented by Cogeco starting at 6:30 pm\, followed by the headline performance at 8:00 pm on the Fred Anderson Stage. \nMusicfest is proudly free\, barrier-free\, and family-friendly\, making it an easy addition to a regional getaway. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a relaxed summer evening by the water. On-site food vendors and nearby dining options enhance the experience\, while accommodations\, lakes\, trails\, beaches\, and cycling routes throughout Peterborough County make it simple to plan a full day or weekend around a concert night. \nFor travellers staying across the County\, Peterborough Musicfest offers a memorable evening experience that pairs perfectly with the region’s outdoor adventures and small-town charm — bringing people together through live music all summer long.
