In the 1820s\, Peter Robinson led an emigration scheme that brought hundreds of Irish families to Canada as they fled famine and poverty. More than 2\,000 arrived in Scotts Plains—later known as Peterborough—and began their lives anew. “Wild Irish Geese” reflects on the courage\, displacement\, and enduring spirit of those who journeyed far to survive. Through hardship and hope\, these new Canadians forged a fragile beginning in a complex colonial landscape. DESCRIPTION:The Trans-Canada Highwaymen (TCH) is a super group (your words – not mine) consisting of Moe Berg (TPOH)\, Chris Murphy (Sloan)\, Craig Northey (Odds) and Steven Page (Ex-BNL). Four guys who have known each other for (ahem) decades now all of whom have written songs that have contributed to Canadian culture. \nThe TCH live show will include songs from Explosive Hits Vol. 1 but the emphasis of the TCH live show will still be the songs these guys have written. \nDon’t worry\, you’ll still hear Moe sing “I’m An Adult Now”\, “Hard to Laugh” and “She’s So Young”. You’ll still hear Chris sing “Underwhelmed”\, “The Other Man” and “The Rest of My Life”. You’ll still hear Craig sing “It Falls Apart”\, “Someone Who’s Cool” and “Make You Mad”. You’ll still hear Steven sing “The Old Apartment”\, “Brian Wilson” and “Jane”. \nAnd you know what Vol. 1 means … \nPeterborough Musicfest is one of Canada’s longest-running free admission music festival and a highlight of the summer season for visitors exploring Peterborough County and the Kawarthas. The series takes place at Del Crary Park on the shores of Little Lake\, offering a scenic waterfront setting for live music under the stars. \nHeld every Wednesday and Saturday evening from late June to mid August\, Peterborough Musicfest features a dynamic mix of Canadian and international artists across genres including rock\, pop\, country\, indie\, folk\, and roots.
