SUMMARY:Trappers Carnival 2026
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, on the first Saturday in March\, the Trappers Carnival takes place at the NKCC. First held in 1976\, the Carnival is a fun and interactive way to promote education\, and increase awareness about fur harvesting and trapping. \nThe Carnival features all-day fur handling demonstrations\, door prizes\, food\, games\, and numerous skills competitions including trap-setting\, pelt preparation\, and more. In addition\, guests can access services such as on-site knife sharpening\, fur remodeling and repair\, new and custom fur creations\, trapper information\, and numerous vendors offering a variety of trapping and hunting-related equipment and supplies. \nThe Trappers Carnival is open from 9 am to 4 pm\, and is held in conjunction with the AMHA’s Minor Hockey Tournament. A fun and educational day for all!

DESCRIPTION:The Buckhorn Spring Craft Show is May 16-17\, 2026! ☀️🌺 \nThe Buckhorn Community Centre hosts a unique craft show on Victoria Day weekend\, featuring artisans and crafters from across Ontario. In 2026\, the Spring Craft Show runs Saturday\, May 16 from 10am to 5pm and Sunday\, May 17 from 10am to 4pm. \nVisitors will be treated to a wide variety of hand-crafted items including home and garden décor\, clothing\, jewellery\, scented items and food. \nAdmission is $5 per person and includes a ballot to win a $100 shopping spree at the Harvest Craft Show. \nFree parking is available and includes a free shuttle bus operating from the parking lot to the BCC. Limited accessible parking is available at the BCC. \nPlease note that we offer a smoke-free\, scent-free & accessible facility. The main building has air-conditioning. The 11 outside pavillions offer an outdoor country experience when shopping\, yet they are all under cover. This event originated as the first fundraising event in 1978 to help pay for the mortgage on the original buildings and land. Today\, the show is known as one of the country’s premier events. \nNot only does the show feature professional artists\, but there’s also an Amateur Art Competition\, Art Activity Zone\, exhibit of youth art\, and live music. As well\, an annual Special Exhibit is curated by a committee of artists to bring something unique to each year’s event. \nAdmission is by donation. Dogs must be leashed and are not allowed in buildings.
