DESCRIPTION:For centuries\, puppetry has been a practiced artform across the globe. Marionettes are a lively medium for sharing stories\, animating myths and legends\, and for entertaining audiences. The Peterborough Puppet Guild was founded in 1953 and operated for over a decade\, performing as well as hosting marionette-building workshops. \nOn display at the Peterborough Museum & Archives are selections of marionettes from the Peterborough Puppet Guild’s vast collection\, set within themed vignettes that include the Wizard of Oz\, King Neptune\, Liberace’s band\, and more! \nAll strings considered\, you’re knot going to find a collection of marionettes like this anywhere else!

SUMMARY:Family Day Event at the Peterborough Museum & Archives
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate this Family Day at the Peterborough Museum & Archives (PMA)! Join us for an unforgettable afternoon filled to the brim with activities including Drag Storytime\, puppet fun\, crafts\, food canteen and more! This delightful event is a collaboration with the talented students of the Fleming Museum Management and Curatorship program. \nSee schedule of activities below:\n2:00 PM to 2:30 PM – Communication Drag Storytime with Betty Baker\n3:00 PM to 3:30 PM- Puppetry Drag Storytime with Betty Baker\n1:00 PM to 4:00 PM – Crafts in Multi-Purpose Room\n1:00 PM to 4:00 PM – Snacks and Drink Canteen ( cash only) in multi-purpose room. This is a fundraiser for the Museum Management Students. \nWe kindly suggest a $10 donation per family/group for the event. The PMA is stroller and wheelchair accessible; parking is free and available in the parking lot directly across from the PMA or up the hill. Everyone is welcome!
