SUMMARY:To Honour and Respect: Gifts from the Michi Saagiig Women to the Prince of Wales\, 1860
DESCRIPTION:In April 2023\, quilled birch bark makaks made by women of Rice Lake Village (now Hiawatha First\nNation) will arrive at the Peterborough Museum & Archives (PMA) for an extended loan visit from the\nRoyal Collection Trust in England\, where they have been cared for since they were given to the young\nPrince of Wales in 1860. The makaks will be exhibited and will be the focus of activities: workshops on\nquillwork\, Michi Saagiig Anishnaabemowin\, special tours of the exhibit\, and some visits in which\nparticipants will be able to gently touch them. \nDr Lori Beavis (Hiawatha) and Dr Laura Peers curate the To Honour and Respect project\, with a Planning\nCircle including Gimaakwe Laurie Carr (Hiawatha)\, Kim Muskratt (Hiawatha)\, Veronica King-Jamieson\n(Mississaugas of the Credit) and others. The project is funded by the Museum Assistance Program\n(Department of Canadian Heritage)\, Canada Council for the Arts\, the Ontario Arts Council\, and Hiawatha\nFirst Nation\, with in-kind contributions by the City of Peterborough and the Peterborough Museum &\nArchives\, whose staff will care for the makaks during their visit. The Royal Collection Trust is lending the makaks.

SUMMARY:The Long Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The truth and lies of a friendship come to the surface during a weekend visit between two couples. There are plenty of surprises along the way in this comedy of manners. Writing in the Hamilton Spectator\, Gary Smith described the play as having ‘…just enough sex\, just enough smart talk\, just enough preposterous plot twists to keep you titillated.
