SUMMARY:Owl Prowl at The Eyrie
DESCRIPTION:Grab your flashlights! Come with us for a one-hour session where we’ll go for a walk through the woods trying to call wild owls\, all while learning about our elusive woodland neighbours! We’ll be hosting three public Owl Prowls on February 23\, March 2\, and March 9. Owl Prowls start at 7:30pm\, are capped at 15 participants\, and are just $10 per person!  \nBook your spots in advance at www.TheEyrie.ca/owlprowl  \nIN REGARDS TO THE WELFARE OF WILDLIFE  \nThese sessions are responsibly run\, taking into account the wellbeing of wildlife. These are non-intrusive\, passive wildlife walks\, allowing wild owls to approach or respond to our group: wildlife is NEVER pursued\, nor are they baited. We also have several different areas to visit so that we are not over-visiting any spots.  \nShould anyone have any concerns\, please feel free to send The Eyrie an email or message.

SUMMARY:Trappers Carnival 2026
DESCRIPTION:Each year\, on the first Saturday in March\, the Trappers Carnival takes place at the NKCC. First held in 1976\, the Carnival is a fun and interactive way to promote education\, and increase awareness about fur harvesting and trapping. \nThe Carnival features all-day fur handling demonstrations\, door prizes\, food\, games\, and numerous skills competitions including trap-setting\, pelt preparation\, and more. In addition\, guests can access services such as on-site knife sharpening\, fur remodeling and repair\, new and custom fur creations\, trapper information\, and numerous vendors offering a variety of trapping and hunting-related equipment and supplies. \nThe Trappers Carnival is open from 9 am to 4 pm\, and is held in conjunction with the AMHA’s Minor Hockey Tournament. A fun and educational day for all!
