DESCRIPTION:Works from the Youth Art Mentorship Program\nFeaturing local youth artists: Masinjah Aloh\, Ruby Carbert\, Annabelle Diamond\, Artemis Lishman\, and Jace McIntyre \nThis exhibition is the culmination of the 2023/24 Youth Art Mentorship Program. Now in its third year\, this program provides an opportunity for artists at the end of their high school careers to work with an artist-mentor\, developing work for exhibition at the Art Gallery of Peterborough. \n“Figuring Identity: declarations and dreams” includes paintings and sculptural works speaking to where these artists have come from\, where they’re going\, and how it feels to be here now. \nFunding for this project was made possible by a grant from the PCVS Legacy Fund within the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough.

The Norwood Fair was established back in the year 1868 as a place for area residents to display the fruits of their labours and to provide an opportunity for some friendly competition between friends and neighbours. The fair was also a community gathering where village folk came together to celebrate the harvest\, catch up with each other and have a little fun for a couple of days. \nThe Norwood Fair has of course grown and evolved substantially in the last 150+ years\, our mandate however has not changed\, it is and always will be our mission to provide you and your family with a traditional country fair filled with lots of fun and excitement. \nOne ticket price at the gate covers entry to all fair events. Over 80 vendors\, its one of the biggest trade shows in the area. There is something for everyone here\, even a food vendor inside the building while you are shopping.

SUMMARY:“Bringing People Together” – An Afternoon of Music and Hope
DESCRIPTION:As the New Canadians Centre (NCC) sees an exponential increase in the need for its services\, the Peterborough Concert Band is joining with it in a fundraiser concert with all benefit dollars to be donated to NCC. \nThe concert will take place at Peterborough’s Market Hall on October 27th from 2:30 to 4:00 pm. \nThe Peterborough Concert Band (PCB) is one of the longest-running concert bands in Canada\, entertaining audiences for over 165 years. Their Juno-nominated conductor and composer\, Saman Shahi\, will lead the band through an exciting program of selections ranging from classical to contemporary. \nDon’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to bring people together\, to help others and make a difference in our community!
