DESCRIPTION:A superb entertainer\, master guitarist\, with his signature soulful voice\, David Wilcox has inhabited the Canadian musical landscape for decades with his blend of rock\, blues\, country\, ragtime and other roots styles and will be treating the Musicfest stage to his unique brand of Canadiana. \nOver his career he has amassed multiple gold and platinum albums and countless fans of several generations. His music has been skated to by Olympic champions Salé and Pelletier\, his songs have appeared in movies like Cocktail with Tom Cruise. Whether it’s a backyard barbeque\, a TV theme (Street Legal)\, Carnegie Hall\, the Montreux Jazz Festival with John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin\, his sound is ubiquitous and wholly Canadian. Until you see him live\, you don’t know what you are missing. SUMMARY:Buckhorn Festival of the Arts 2024
DESCRIPTION:The Buckhorn Festival of the Arts brings professional\, world-renowned artists from across Canada to the park-like setting of the Buckhorn Community Centre. This event originated as the first fundraising event in 1978 to help pay for the mortgage on the original buildings and land. Today\, the show is known as one of the country’s premier events. \nNot only does the show feature professional artists\, but there’s also an Amateur Art Competition\, Art Activity Zone\, exhibit of youth art\, and live music. As well\, an annual Special Exhibit is curated by a committee of artists to bring something unique to each year’s event. \nExperience a weekend of art\, music\, food and great company at the 2024 Buckhorn Festival of the Arts on Saturday\, August 17\, 2024 from 10am to 5pm; Sunday\, August 18\, 2024 from 10am to 4pm.
