SUMMARY:Every Brilliant Thing by Duncan MacMillan & Jonny Donahoe Presented by New Stages Theatre
DESCRIPTION:New Stages proudly presents the return of EVERY BRILLIANT THING\, featuring Steve Ross\, one of Canada’s best actors. \nEVERY BRILLIANT THING is a life-affirming story of holding onto hope in the face of crisis. After a sold-out run in Peterborough that closed just before the pandemic\, EVERY BRILLIANT THING returns with its message of hope more poignant now than ever. With humour and warmth\, Stratford actor Steve Ross is simply remarkable in the lead role\, a man who reflects back on his family life\, his encounters with depression\, and how he’s found a way to keep going in difficult times. \nA perfect play for our times\, EVERY BRILLIANT THING is a  much-needed reminder of all the little things that make life worth living. Join us for a unique theatre experience! \nWant to know more? Visit www.newstages.ca or like us on Facebook. \n“Possibly the best thing I’ve seen in Peterborough. Intimate and soulful\, powerful and perfectly cast.” – Cam Taylor\, Nerve Media \n“Steve’s performance truly is brilliant. Don’t miss it!” – Susan Quinlan\, Peterborough & Kawarthas Economic Development \n“Filled to the brim with joy…beautiful\, heart-wrenching\, and very funny.” —Time Out London \n“Every Brilliant Thing is evidence\, which we may need\, that life matters\, and that theatre matters.” —Fuse \nTrigger Warning: Contains themes of suicide. SUMMARY:Jeff Martin Presented by Market Hall PAC
DESCRIPTION:EFF MARTIN CANADIAN SOLO TOUR 2023 \nWith special guest Jack Bratt \nIt’s been a long time coming for our Canadian friends… Jeff Martin will be performing a handful of intimate solo shows in Eastern Canada in early 2023. \nAcross two sets each night\, Jeff will perform benchmark songs from his career and provide insights and stories from behind the music and lyrics. \nThe evening’s first set will showcase songs from Jeff’s now legendary debut solo record ‘Exile and The Kingdom’\, some of which had not been performed live for fifteen years prior to the recent Australian tour dates. \nThe second set delves deep across Jeff’s other releases\, taking in his personal favourites and classics for good measure. \nA night not to be missed for any Jeff Martin fan.

Please email your request to admin@publicenergy.ca or call 705-745-1788. \nThe Anishinaabe of Grassy Narrows are resilient. They are stitching their fractured landscapes back together from the impact of mercury poisoning. Using dance\, movement\, sound\, and storytelling\, the Dora-award winning Waawaate Fobister embodies Omaagomaan\, a two-spirit being\, and a manifestation of the earth and man-made poisons that have seeped into the earth’s crust. A fierce shape-shifter inspired by Anishinaabeg worldview and cosmologies\, Omaagomaan forces us to reckon with the ways the maanaadizi (ugly) and the onishishin (beautiful) collide. \n“Fobister is a magnetic performer\, and his storytelling and characterizations are richly textured.” -Kathleen Oliver\, The Georgia Straight \n“Fobister is a dynamic\, engaging performer\, and you owe it to yourself to listen to their story.” -Mooney on Theatre

SUMMARY:Public Energy presents: Sex Dalmatian
DESCRIPTION:Sex Dalmatian is an evening-length dance theatre glam drama. It follows a fiercely careerist anthropomorphized talking dog named Sex Dalmatian. Created by the award winning\, critically acclaimed Toronto-based absurdist dance company Rock Bottom Movement\, the show is built with a strong feminist perspective and a playful tone. Sex Dalmatian places heavy feelings into bizarre containers\, shining a humorous light on some of the darker corners of the collective consciousness. \n“Rock Bottom Movement and its artistic director\, Alyssa Martin\, are the quirky weirdos of Toronto’s dance/theatre world that you can’t help but be drawn toward.” – Carly Maga\, Toronto Star
