DESCRIPTION:For centuries\, puppetry has been a practiced artform across the globe. Marionettes are a lively medium for sharing stories\, animating myths and legends\, and for entertaining audiences. The Peterborough Puppet Guild was founded in 1953 and operated for over a decade\, performing as well as hosting marionette-building workshops. \nOn display at the Peterborough Museum & Archives are selections of marionettes from the Peterborough Puppet Guild’s vast collection\, set within themed vignettes that include the Wizard of Oz\, King Neptune\, Liberace’s band\, and more! \nAll strings considered\, you’re knot going to find a collection of marionettes like this anywhere else!

DESCRIPTION:Looking for fun creative activities for children this March Break? Hutchison House hosts a variety of fun crafts and activities over the spring break. Day camps will run from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 8th\, 11th\, 12th\, 13th and 14th. Suitable for children aged 6 to 12. Please make sure to bring a peanut-free snack and indoor shoes. Each day is a different theme with different activities. Cost is $25 per program and pre-registration is required. DESCRIPTION:For ages 7 and up\, a fun and educational arts activity for your March Break!  \nIn this workshop we will learn some basic bookbinding techniques and make a couple small books. We will learn about materials for books and how to use the pamphlet stitch technique\, as well as a few additional methods to make our journals. \nWe endeavor to use easy to source materials in all our classes so participants can continue to practice these crafts and techniques on their own if they so wish to! \nThis class is $30 per registrant. All materials are included. The class is 3 hours long and instructed by local artist Jeffrey Macklin of Jackson Creek Press.
