SUMMARY:Ontario 55+ Summer Games
DESCRIPTION:The Ontario 55+ Summer Games is a celebration of active living. Hosted annually\, alternating between Winter and Summer\, the Games bring together people 55 years of age or older for competition and camaraderie. The Games Ontario Program is operated under the Ministry of Heritage\, Sport\, Tourism and Culture Industries as part of its efforts to support amateur sport\, physical activity\, and community development in the province. The Ontario 55+ Games are delivered in partnership with the Ontario Senior Games Association. \nThe 2022 Peterborough Ontario 55+ Summer Games are supported by the Ontario Government through its Games Ontario program. This program delivers and supports multi-sport events\, including the Ontario Winter and Summer Games for youth\, the Ontario 55+ Winter and Summer Games and the Ontario Parasport Games.

SUMMARY:Annual Artist Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:During the season\, ZimArt hosts a month long exhibition celebrating the work of the visiting artist. Tapiwa Mapuranga\, this year’s artist-in-residence\, will be featured in Stories in Stone\, an exhibition focused on his work. \nOpening night of the exhibition will feature live Zimbabwean music by Nhapitapi from 2-5pm. On weekends during the exhibition a selection of hand-made Zimbabwean crafts and other items will be on sale with all proceeds going to\, ZimKids Community Support\, a Canadian not-for-profit supporting grassroots projects in Zimbabwe. \nMany visitors to the Rice Lake series return year after year. Our guest book is overflowing with compliments about the extraordinary beauty of the work\, the skill and creativity of the artists\, the emotional power of this indigenous art and the inspirational natural setting in which they are displayed.

SUMMARY:GreenUP's 30th Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:30 years ago this year GreenUP was created! GreenUP’s early roots in 1992 began in citizen-lead awareness-raising projects and in cooperation between different community organizations. We are proud of those roots and we stay true to them with strong resident engagement programs and partnerships with many organizations. \nOver the past three decades\, GreenUP has been recognized as a model for supporting meaningful on-the-ground action\, both nationally and internationally\, and other communities have followed our example by developing similar organizations. \nOn August 11 from 4-7pm\, GreenUP will celebrate its birthday with a public event at Ecology Park. \nThe celebrations will start at 4pm with family-friendly programming. \nAt 5:30 short remarks will be shared recognizing donors\, supporters\, and partners. \nRefreshments and light dinner will follow\, and family-friendly programming will continue to 7pm.
