Our annual exhibition and sale is the highlight of the season. And this year we are celebrating our 20th Anniversary. This is a must-attend event for all visitors to our region. Over 300 stone sculptures, representing the work of over 50 Zimbabwean sculptors, will be on display in the gorgeous Kawartha landscape. Visiting Zimbabwean artist, Wimbai Ngoma, will be available to talk to visitors and demonstrate the art of direct stone carving.
Both at the Opening and Closing Parties visitors are entertained with an outdoor concert by the Zimbabwean band Nhapitapi. Dancing outside, surrounded by sculptures, has been described by visitors as “magical” and “an immersion art experience for all ages.”
On weekends during the exhibition there will be Zimbabwean crafts for sale, with all proceeds going to ZimKids, a not-for-profit supporting vulnerable children in Zimbabwe.
Imagine being able to meet an artist, touch the art (gently!) and explore the interaction between nature and the medium – stone – which comes from our natural world. How many galleries have live and stone frogs nestled side by side?
Bring the kids and bring a picnic. Stay for a while. Free admission.
