The Peterborough Theatre Guild is thrilled to be re-staging Robert Ainsworth’s critically acclaimed play, Frozen Dreams, which will be the Guild’s entry into the EODL Festival 2020. Often referred to as “The play about the homeless people and the turkey”, Frozen Dreams has been produced several times across Canada since its premier production at the Guild in 2003.
Sam, Harry and Rainman are living on the streets of a major city. It’s Christmas and Rainman, a teenager, has been given a frozen turkey for Christmas by a group of good Samaritans. Because it is so important for Rainman to have a ‘real Christmas’, pondering what to do with this turkey becomes the focal point of the play. This poignant and sometimes hilarious production is a roller-coaster of emotions that invites audiences to look through different eyes at the homeless who struggle to survive in our towns and cities. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to see one of our all-time favourite productions!
