CNIB Brighten the Night at Nicholls Oval
CNIB is a registered charity, passionately providing community-based support, knowledge and a national voice to ensure Canadians who are blind or partially sighted have the confidence, skills and opportunities to fully participate in life.
CNIB Night Steps
Participants arrive, register and are provided with a t-shirt and glow items. The t-shirt, complete with ‘Night Steps’ in Braille across the front, makes guests feel like they are a part of our team. There is lots to do before the walk begins – tactile arts and crafts, face painting, a blind fold activity and more. Music plays in the background as guests enjoy their pre-walk meal.
Throughout the walk, glow items bob and weave in the darkness. Volunteers stand along the route with noisemakers, so that individuals with vision loss can find their way. It is a truly unique experience that you can only get with CNIB.
Family, friends and pets are welcome at CNIB Night Steps, a 5km (or less) fundraising walk under the stars. Funds raised will help CNIB ensure more individuals who are blind or partially sighted your community can access our new programs and services. Pledges will also bring the joy of reading to adults and children living with sight loss, and every gift will empower members of our community with the skills, confidence and opportunities they need to fully participate in life.
You can help us!
The event attracts participants from all age demographics who share a common understanding of the importance of CNIB’s work and want to support people who are blind or partially sighted in leading independent, active lives. The family focused event ensures that there are activities designed to enlighten participants and stimulate their senses and acquaint them with a world without vision.
Team Participation increases the participation and fundraising dollars and is actively promoted to local businesses. Team challenges between within
companies, business partners and community members at large are growing in popularity.
