Take a sunny autumn afternoon and turn it into an opportunity to explore the day-in-the-life of a winemaker at Rolling Grape Vineyard. With lots of food, fun and festivities in store – you’ll be crushing it by the end of the day.
Authentic Adventure: Harvest Party and Pig Roast
Here is your chance to experience what grape to glass is all about. Join a brigade of hearty harvesters for an afternoon in the vineyard just outside of Bailieboro to help bring in this season’s crop.
Prepare to be wined and dined, with the fresh talent from Fleming College’s culinary program serving up paired fare to guests. You’ll get to pick some grapes, learn how processes like de-stemming and crushing happen, and of course, enjoy samples of new releases and past-harvest party vintages – maybe you’ll make a tradition out of it.
What to expect
Expect to come away with a fresh perspective on a favourite libation and a smile on your face that comes with spending a day among friends in the vineyard.
Planning on picking? We recommend leaving the stilettos at home and bringing along your sunhat (it might be your last chance of the season to wear it). Guests are also encouraged to bring sunscreen and gardening gloves).
Tickets for this fun annual event include a glass of wine, appetizers, main course, dessert and samples along with prizes and live entertainment.
Why are their wines called Farmhouse Red/White?
This up-and-coming Ontario winery put their first crop of grapes in the ground in 2012. But winemaker, Jon Drew’s passion has roots as deep as his family farm. “I have always loved being part of the family farm, planting, growing, and harvesting real food from the ground,” he explains. Wine enthusiasts can look forward to savouring the experience and the wines that are bottled up at Rolling Grape.
What else can I do nearby?
On the family farm in the middle of our vineyard is where you will find our winery. Here you can enjoy our estate wines and learn about the vineyard.
