Paddle to the Pub Excursion

Paddles and pints are a natural combination, as the newest Lakefield pub well knows, so we’ve partnered with them to offer this classic package that includes an guided canoe trip down historic Eels Creek and High Falls or across Lake Katchewanooka, rich in both wetland species as well as history, including islands haunted by the most beautiful ghost in Ontario. We pull out just meters from the Canoe and Paddle Pub’s stacked-wall patio to enjoy a pint and a plate with our paddle mates.

All our paddling excursions begin with a dock-talk and a lesson to help ensure our party paddles swiftly and safely along our course. For detailed information, please check out this overview document. Participants will be required to fill out a participant information form as well as a waiver before participating. Voyageur Canoe Tours

Join us on this one-of-a-kind tour as we paddle a 36′ Montreal canoe along the Trent-Severn Waterway and through the Peterborough Lift Lock! In partnership with Parks Canada, these tours are a great experience for people of all ages and abilities. No previous paddling experience is necessary, only a willingness to try new things!

Throughout the tour, you can expect to hear stories about voyageur life and learn about the history of the waterway and how the Peterborough Lift Lock was built. As we travel through the Lift Lock you’ll gain an incredible view of the canal! We’ll teach you basic paddling strokes and we’ll work together to move our big canoe through the water. Paddles and lifejackets are provided and we recommend that you bring a hat, water and sunscreen. Ample parking is available at the Lift Lock Visitor Centre.

Please note that infants 30lbs and under are not permitted in the canoe due to safety limitations. Each tour is 90 minutes in length. For more information please visit this page.
