2016 marks the 39th year for the Buckhorn Fine Art Festival.
The Buckhorn Fine Art Festival has a time-honoured reputation for showcasing gallery-quality displays of fine art that appeal to a broad range of art enthusiasts and collectors. It always inspires visitors to linger longer to experience demonstrations and special presentations by the artists themselves, and performances from a variety of accomplished local musicians. Local cuisine is available to satisfy the culinary cravings of the festival goers. The Opening Garden Party (Friday night) offers patrons an intimate opportunity to interact with the artists on site and be the first to view the their new works, at a relaxed pace. The festival also includes an amateur art competition, a youth art display and wildlife displays, all in a picturesque woodland setting.
Each year the Festival strives to rejuvenate itself without compromising the Festival’s unique character. Our 2016 Special Exhibit is called “Real Lives, Real People”. A collection from the late Lewis Parker, Artist and Illustrator depicting the life, culture and history of Canada.
Again this year the ARTivity Zone will be in full swing. Featuring unique “studios” where budding artists can explore different mediums and projects: some small, some self-directed, others with guidance. The concept behind the ARTivity Zone is to nurture artistic creativity by providing a variety of interactive art activities for children and adults in a place where one can freely explore, experience and use one’s imagination while drawing inspiration from nature.
The Buckhorn Fine Art Festival has received the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario for the 9th year in a row.
