Every year a town anxiously awaits an event that will showcase its uniqueness and sense of community. For two months in the heart of summer, the Peterborough Musicfest galvanizes a city and greatly impacts an economy with 15 free concerts. Popular bands such as Tegan and Sara, Carly Rae Jepsen, Walk Off the Earth, Our Lady Peace, Tom Cochrane, City and Colour and Terri Clark have graced the stage in Del Crary Park.
On the shores of picturesque Little Lake, Peterborough Musicfest, by entertaining locals with prominent live acts, generates a sizable economic impact to local business and tourist attractions. In 2016, an Economic Impact Study revealed that Musicfest creates 44 new jobs and provides a $4.2 million boost to the region.
The 8-week event is funded completely through corporate sponsorship, fundraising initiatives, and private donations as well as through municipal support at all levels.
