Hiawatha First Nation

Hiawatha First Nation is a strong and proud community that enjoys the natural beauty and history of the Rice Lake area. Mississauga people have made Rice Lake their home since the 1600′s, where fishing has become a tradition. The Old Railroad Stop is a must where you can sit and enjoy an ice cream while taking in the beautiful views from the beach or restaurant. The gas bar and convenience store are fully stocked to cater to all your needs whether you are just passing through or staying for a while.

Experience the Hiawatha First Nation Annual Pow Wow each year in May. Enjoy browsing the many craft vendors and taste the delicious traditional cuisine at some of the food vendors. Enjoy the traditional dancing, singing and drumming!
