March Break Art Camps at the Art Gallery of Peterborough
Join the AGP for five days of creativity and fun for March Break. Register for the whole week or for a half-day; $20 per half day. Mornings: 9 am to 12 noon for ages 4 to 7. Afternoons: 1 pm to 4 pm for ages 8 to 11.
Monday March 13, Body Portraits with Allison Karakokkinos Lawler
Draw a life sized self-portrait! Think about what makes you unique and how to express it using symbols and colour in paint and pastel.
Tuesday March 14, Musical Abstractions with Allison Karakokkinos Lawler
Draw inspiration from music to create a painting full of rhythm and movement. Explore how music can influence colour choice and mark making.
Wednesday March 15, Printmaking with Brianna Gosselin
Using nature as your inspiration, try printmaking techniques such as monoprinting, stencilling and stamping. You will get a chance to try our studio print press, and incorporate watercolours and mixed media into your art prints.
Thursday March 16, Animal Crackers with Anne Cavanagh
For the animal lover and young artist alike! Learn to observe and draw animal portraits. Using pastels, pencil and charcoal, have fun with textures and colour and make unique animal art.
Friday March 17, Constructions with the AGP Education Team.
Start with a visit to 11th Line, the AGP exhibition by artist Lyn Carter and get inspired by her use of geometry. Back in the studio, create sculptural constructions using mixed media such as fabric, wood and paper maché.
During the March Break the gallery is open Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday & Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
